Valais

The view from my window early  morning.
After a day up the mountain yesterday we set off to explore several other areas of the beautiful Valais region.

We found a swinging bridge across a torrent, we drove up a narrow road to a tiny village called Ausserberg where we chanced on the local church community welcoming a new priest with ceremony and bands, we drove on an even more narrow road higher up the side of the valley to walk along a water irrigation channel (suonen) that was made in the 1300s, and we were taken on a rowboat on the largest underground lake in Europe.

It was a glorious day.

We've been admiring the productive and neat vegetable gardens in Switzerland.

The Baumhaus BnB in Fiesch was all about wood and very eco friendly.
The breakfast was especially good!!
